Club honours
We enjoyed our very first awards night and thank all of the members and families who joined us on the night. This will be an annual event which will take place after the end of the table tennis season so that we can recognise the years results, the aim will be for it to take place in May each year.
There were several much deserved award winners and I'm sure everyone will join with us congratulating them on a great year.
Player of the Year 2016/2017 - Jake Remmer
Jake is the much deserved winner this year. His table tennis has gone from strength to strength and he has several personal and team awards to his name for the last season including;
Warrington Cadet Champion National Cadet League 2nd Division Winners Interleague Group and Overall Winner Selected to play in the Nationals at Kettering
Jake is also a member of the Warrington B Team playing in the Warrington League giving some fantastic performances throughout the season.
Jake has shown great commitment to his table table and has proved himself to be a great young sportsman and role model, He never misses training or matches and is a real credit to the club.
We are also delighted to announce that Jake is also the Club Ambassador 2017/2018 for WTTC
Junior Ambassador 2017/2017 - Jake Remmer
Most Improved Player of the Year 2016/2017 - Tobey Hayden
What an amazing 12 months for Tobey. It's hard to believe that he only picked up a table tennis bat in May of last year and already he has achieved so much.
National Cadet League 2nd Division Winners Interleague Group Winner InterLeague One Point Challenge Winner Regional Schools Winner with Fred Longworth's Warrington Cadet Runner Up
Tobey is also the Captain and lead performer in Warrington C, playing in the Warrington League
Tobey is a great addition to the Club and a lovely young man who never misses training or any of his team commitments.
Most Improved Player of the Year 2016/2017 (Thursday Club) Zack Jackson
It is great to see just how much the beginners on Thursday are coming on since we launched the Thursday training session.
Zack has shown some great development and has played in several of our InterLeague Tournaments, even managing to take games off some of the Monday night players which is no small feat.
Zack is a popular club member and half of the double act fondly known as Ant and Dec and we look forward to seeing him improve further in the coming season.
Players Player of the Year 2016/2017- Zach Moorhouse
As this award is voted for by the other players it is a special achievement to be the winner.
Zach is a popular and enthusiastic member of the club who will always have a go whenever needed. He never looses his cool, gets upset or angry and he really tries to help with the less experienced players. We were very proud to be told that during an Interleague match with an inexperienced player, he actually stopped to help the person he was playing against serve and followed this up by giving them coaching during the intervals!
Zack is a pleasure to have in the club and a fantastic role model for all.
Parents Player of the Year 2016/2017- Robert Price
We were delighted when we tallied up the votes to see who had won the award voted for by parents. Obviously, parents couldn't’t vote for their own child and Robert was a clear winner in this category. It has been a tough year for Robert, much harder than any child should have to face. Through it all he has never missed training or playing in the league and the national cadets league and is a great support of the InterLeague Tournaments where he has been a group winner and overall champion.
He has never been heard to complain about his illness or use it as an excuse so he truly deserves the recognition of this award.
and for fun, we enjoyed recognising some special members.....
Loudest Player - Jarod Bithell
Chattiest Player - Nash Jackson
Coach to the Coach - Roxy Jackson
2016 to 2017 has been a great year and we are proud of you all. Keep up with your hard work and commitment to table tennis and we are sure to see many more fantastic years to come.
Thank you all
