Warrington's brightest table tennis juniors debut in national cadet league

Five young Warrington table tennis players this weekend made their debut in the National Cadet League; strong showing from all four Warrington U15s teams on match-day one.
Warrington Table Tennis Club's four U15s teams have each made a strong start to the 2013-14 season in the National Cadet League:
- Warrington A managed team wins against Wirral, Ramsbottom and Stockport
- Warrington B had team wins against Wigan and Rhyl
- Warrington C won every match - an impressive five team wins from five played
- Warrington D, with several players competing in their first ever competitive matches, managed two team wins from five matches played, including a clean sweep of 10 wins from 10 played for ten year-old Konark Pathak
Sue Harper, Warrington Table Tennis Club's Head Coach, said: "each of our teams have made a very positive start to the season. And we had five players making league debuts - each demonstrated that they have what it takes to rise to the challenge."
Following injury to one of the club's top U15s, Toby Williamson, the first team were a player down - a tough prospect for the remaining players, Jordan Glendenning and Lewis Brook, who each won their first four matches, securing team wins against Wirral and Ramsbottom.
Lewis Brook, WTTC 1st team, against Sam Walsh of Halton. Sam went on to win 3-1, but Lewis won sufficient matches to help the team into second place in division one at the end of the season's first match day
In division two the second team also found itself unable to field one of its strongest players, putting pressure on Jack Eaton and Connor Whitehead to get the team off to a good start and make sure it was still in contention for the next match day in December.
Jack Eaton managed one of the day's top performances, coming back from 0-2 down in a match against Wigan to win 3-2.

Connor Whitehead, WTTC 2nd team, was the only Warrington player to secure a win against league favourites Halton A
In division three Warrington had a further two teams. Below left to right, Alex Weatherby, Emma Halsall and Alex Flint (scoring) and Johann Power - finished the day top of division three
