Warrington nine year-olds selected for North West table tennis team

There's not many nine year-olds that can claim to have been selected for their region, but Warrington TTC's Nicole Scott and Alex Flint can make that claim.
Joining the club at eight years old, Nicole has made remarkable progress, making her County debut during the 2012/13 season and now making selection for the North West team that will compete in the Regional Squad Chamionships in Doncaster next month.
Alex Flint at just nine years old is undoubtedly one of the region's brightest prospects. His father Peter was himself the youngest ever Warrington Singles Champion at just sixteen years old, and Alex is now following in his father's footsteps.
When head coach Sue Harper talks about good technique and the right kind of attitude, it's players like Nicole and Alex that she has in mind: "Nicole and Alex are the youngest-ever Warrington players to be selected for the North West. And if they continue to develop as they have done this season then I'm sure both will go on to achieve much in the sport," explained Sue Harper.
Nicole Scott was recently awarded an outstanding performance award by the coaching team at Warrintgon TTC for her strong showing in Warrington's National Cadet League B team, competing all season at number one in the team, up against the top players in the division.
"Nicole and Alex play the game with a smile on their face and both seem totaly unphased in even the most tricky match encounters. Many young players can learn much from Nicole's and Alex's attitude to sport," added Sue.
