Warrington Table Tennis Club has entered its first ever team into the British League; expanding opportunities for the club's junior players.
For the 2014-15 season Warrington Table Tennis Club has entered a team, starting out in Division 4 North, of the Senior British League - the first time that the club has entered the country's top table tennis league.
The team comprises two senior players, Mark Bleakley and Paul Hutchings and two junior players, sixteen year-olds Daniel Clarke and David Eden.
Head Coach, Sue Harper, explained: "We want to provide a clear route for our club's junior players to reach their potential. Establishing this new team is an important step for the club to take in achieving this."
"The two experienced seniors in the team are both top players in the region and will be able to mentor the juniors through the season," added Sue Harper.
On match weekend one, Warrington competed against Halton, Derwent, Bankfield and Glasgow, winning three and drawing one, to end the weekend in second place behind Ravenscroft.
