Warrington's cadets made impressive debuts for Cheshire in the 2014-15 Cadet County Championships.
Jordan Glendenning, Connor Whitehead and Liz Poyner all made impressive debuts for Cheshire at the Cadet County Championships at Halifax. Cheshire’s Cadet Team included the three Warrington players plus Harry Watson and Robyn Cosgrove from Halton TTC.
Cheshire, Cleveland, Durham, Lincolnshire 1st and 2nd teams competed in a compelling day of county table tennis. Cheshire started the day in fine form beating Durham 6-4. Connor Whitehead won both his sets and, with Jordan winning one, helped the team to a winning start. Liz looked very nervous in her first match, competed well, losing out to two more experienced players.
Cheshire then lost a disappointing match to Lincolnshire's 1st team 7-3. The Cheshire team lost three matches deuce in the fifth game and the final result did not reflect how well the Cheshire players played. The highlight of the match was the first win for Liz. In a nail biting finish, Liz overcame her nerves to win a very close encounter 11-8 in the fifth game.

Cheshire’s third match was against the star team of the day Cleveland. The Cleveland team romped home 8-2 in a one-sided affair.
Cheshire hit top form at the end of the day when they powered through Lincolnshire's 2nd team 10-0. Maximum wins for Jordan, Connor and Liz saw them travel home in good mood.
The Cheshire Cadet Team was coached by Warrington Table Tennis Club’s Kevin Eden, who said: "I am so proud of Jordan Connor and Liz. To see them make their debuts and make winning starts at the county level was great to see. I’m sure that this is just the start of many strong performances for Cheshire."
