In May, one thousand six hundred of the nation’s finest young sports stars will compete in the 2012 School Games: a competition that mirrors the Olympics and Paralympic Games, complete with opening and closing ceremonies. The 2012 School Games national event takes place from 6 - 9th May and four Olympic venues will host the national event: the Olympic Stadium, Aquatic Centre, Velodrome and exCel Centre.
Warrington’s Table Tennis Club’s Alex Storey and Danni Eden will be among the competitors when they compete at the exCel Centre in the table tennis competition.
Alex and Danni have both enjoyed an excellent season playing in the Junior British League and, pictured above, representing Lancashire Juniors in the 2012 County Championships in February.
Fellow club member Andrew Harper, who played in the 2009 School Games, said
“To play at the Olympic Venue is a fantastic opportunity for Alex and Danni. I thoroughly enjoyed the Games and I’m sure that they will both enjoy the experience”.
“We wish Alex and Danni good luck for the competition,” added Andrew.
