InterLeague 8th July Results
Posted by Andrea Wrigley on 10 July 2018
What a great day of competitive table tennis, despite the heat there were some really close and exciting matches.
It was great to see our returning InterLeague players and to welcome several new faces to our events.
Thanks to Pawel of www.ppong.co.uk for sponsoring the tournament as well as bringing his stand so that you had the opportunity to see a selection of his merchandise. Don’t forget, he’s also doing a bat testing at our venue on Monday 16th July so do come along. It’s the ideal time to get ready for the coming season.
Many congratulations to the winners, there really were some close results and hard fought battles.
Overall Champion – Kate Watkinson
Group 1 Winner – Brian Hallsworth
Group 2 Winner – Keith Dale
Group 3 Winner – Ibrahim Abdullah
Group 4 Winner – Peter Walker
Group 5 Winner – Kate Watkinson
One Point Challenge – Karan Josan
It was great to see Kate Watkinson win group 5 after coming runner up sever times and boy did she do it in style! She won every match also taking home the Overall Champion trophy. Well done Kate, no more group 5 for you. Can’t wait to see you take on group 4 with your gorgeous smile and delightful attitude.
Ibrahim also winning all his matches was a close runner up for the overall trophy and winner of group 3. What a performance from Ibrahim who was newly promoted to group 3 after winning group 4 in the May InterLeague. Where to next Ibrahim?
Welcome back to Brian Hallsworth who returned after missing the last few tournaments due to table tennis clashes. Great comeback winning group 1 and taking home his 3rd InterLeague trophy after narrowly beating Daniel Watkinson. Great to see you Brian.
It’s always good to see new winners and we had another 2 new winners in group 2 and 4. Keith Dale won group 2 on his first visit to one of our events. Great performance Keith, we look forward to seeing you in group 1 on your next visit. Peter Walker put in a superb performance to win group 4. Not only had he come from a night shift, he’d also had a golf practise at the crack of dawn! Way to go Peter!
Next tournament is August 12th. Make sure you book early as we had 8 on standby for this one!
