Alex Flint this week retained his under eleven's Cheshire Schools Championship title for the second year in a row. The ten year-old, playing for his primatry school, St Oswald's in Padgate, didn't drop a game, winning each of his encounters 3-0 against Cheshire's top young table tennis players.

Alex will now represent Cheshire's schools at the English National Schools Championships in Doncaster this April.
Sue Harper is Warrington Table Tennis Club Head Coach where Alex trains: "Alex has shown many of the attributes needed to go far in sport and has much potential. Even at such a young age, Alex has gained the respect of everyone at the club. He trains and plays in matches several times a week and has developed a positive attitude towards learning and developing his game, and he has responded well to the challenges posed by competitive sport."
Alex Flint first started playing table tennis aged six and is one of several promising under elevens currently training with Warrington Table Tennis Club. In 2013 Alex made his debut in the Warrington & District League and has twice this season won his Club's outstanding performance award.
During his most recent appearance in the National Cadet League Alex managed a clean sweep of ten wins from ten matches played, including several wins against older and more experienced players.
Alex has table tennis in his genes, following father Peter and uncle Howard into the sport who both also excelled as junior players in the 1980s. Peter remains the youngest ever player to win the Warringtion & Distict mens singles title at the age of just sixteen and is now a coach at Warrington Table Tennis Club where he helps to develop the game of Warrington's juniors.
Warrington Table Tennis Club is one of the region's top junior clubs and is currently recruiting primary school-age children to join its beginners' training sessions on Monday evenings.
