Warrington Table Tennis Club took both the under 18s and under 15s titles at the Blackpool Junior Open on 23 October with wins from James Chappell and Daniel Clarke.
"The wins marked a strong opening to the season for both boys," said Warrington Table Tennis Club's head coach, Sue Harper, who is optimistic for the season ahead and added: "both James and Daniel have been training hard, making good progress and their wins this weekend at the Blackpool Junior Open show that they are two of the inform juniors in the region."
13 year-old James Chappell defeated Sam Clayton in a thrilling junior-band final, eventually coming out on top 3-1 against the 14 year-old Sam. On his way to the final James beat Craig Lowe 11-9 in the fifth in a closely-contested semi, after dominating his qualifying group and progressing swiftly through the earlier rounds.

Yorkshire's Sam Clayton also found himself in the final of the under 15s, this time against James' Warrington team-mate Daniel Clarke, appearing in his first under 15s final. Daniel took the first game and Sam the next two to lead the match 2-1. At 10-5 up in the fourth with five match points, the title looked certain to be Sam's but Daniel came back to take the game 13-11 and, with momentum on his side, went on to win the match in the fifth.
