Local table tennis club secures £50,000 funding to expand its facilities.
Warrington TTC's neighbouring club, Wigan TTC, has secured £50K in funding to help it to expand its facilities.
"Such a large cash boost is fantastic news for Wigan and fantastic news for table tennis in the region," said Warrington TTC's Rob Clarke. "We're absolutely thrilled for our neighbour Wigan. It's a great achievement that their management team has worked hard to secure; it is very well deserved. And it shows that table tennis is alive and kicking right now: many table tennis clubs are thriving on the London 2012 legacy and inspiring more and more children to take up sports activities."
In a press release issued by Wigan TTC, the club explained that it will use the cash to expand its facilities and open a 24/7 club.
"The funding was provided by Sport England which has also supported our own club in the past and continues to really get behind and support table tennis," added Clarke.
