Warrington Table Tennis Club's Andrew Harper won bronze at the recent Michael Hawkesworth BTTAD National Championships in Crewe on 12 March, defeating the world no. 10 in a thrilling quarter final match.
Andrew had to contend with a number of tricky encounters to secure the bronze medal, including a tough quarter final match against the world no. 10, David Wetherill.
After going down in the first two games and looking like he would exit the tournament Andrew picked his game up and battled his way back into the match, delivering one of his strongest performances of the season, winning the next three games straight, to win the match in five games.
The performance was one of the nineteen year-old's best career performances to date and is contributing to a great end to the season for Andrew, who recently also defeated the world no. 26 during his last tournament.
