Amy Hutchings has won the U15s Burton-on-Trent Junior Open, defeating Holly Holder in the final.
Warrington new girl, Amy Hutchings, yesterday secured victory at the Burton-on-Trent Junior Open, her first tournament victory after joining the club over the Summer.
"Amy's performance today was outstanding. Right from the outset Amy set the standard with a series of victories in her qualification group before dominating in the knockout rounds. This was a strong and convincing performance from Amy; it will give Amy confidence and stand her in good stead for a challenging season ahead," said Warrington TTC coach and chairman Kevin Eden.
Following victory in a tough semi-final against Phillippa Luxton, eventutally coming through to win 3-1, Amy faced Holly Holder in the final. Initially the final went the way of Holder, with Holly taking the first game making very few unforced errors and putting pressure on Amy to quickly find her naturally attacking game. Amy answered in the second. Finding her top-spin, Amy powered her way through the remaining games to take the match and championship by three games to one.
