Alexander is no stranger to competion at this level. He started playing table tennis at his local club, Warrington, at just six years old and has been the Cheshire Schools Champion three years running, in both the under 11s and under 13s age bands.

Alexander made an early appearance for Warrington in the National Cadet League at just nine years old, one of the youngest players to compete for the club. During the 2014-15 season Alexander lead Warrington Cadets B team, competing in the first division with teammates, James Courtney, Alex Weatherby and Matthew Gibbs. Alexander's team has managed to hold its own and is comfortably in mid table ahead of the last match day of the season: a remarkable achievement for all of the youngsters in the team.

Warrington's head coach, Sue Harper, said: "Alexander is an outstanding example for other young players of what is possible through dedication and rising to new challenges. He has a great approach to competition and to challenging himself. He always gives his all.

"The whole club is thrilled with Alexander's success again this year and wish him the very best at the National Schools Finals later this month," added Sue Harper.

Alexander's family has a strong table tennis background. His father, Peter and uncle, Howard, are well know faces in the sport, having competed themselves since they too were juniors. Peter was the youngest ever Warrington & District League Champion, at just sixteen years old - a record that still stands to this day - and is currently a coach at Warrington Table Tennis Club. Howard plays on Cinnamon Brow's local league team, along with Peter, and helps to run the Warrington League.
