Alex Storey wins Blackpool Junior Open

Alex Storey achieved his second open tournament win of the season at Blackpool on Sunday, cementing his position as one of the top junior table tennis players in the region.
Fifteen year-old Alex secured his victory in a hotly contended tournament against players from across the North West region, as well as including several of Yorkshire's top juniors.
Alex Storey has performed consistently throughout the 2010-11 season
"Alex's performances this season have put him in the spotlight. He is the in-form junior in the region and has had a strong and consistent season," said coach David Hulme. "Alex has an unorthodox style of play, he changes pace with ease and his opponents find him very difficult to handle. Alex thoroughly deserved his win today."
Alex Storey recently came to the attention of leading table tennis brand Donic, securing his first sponsorship deal and this season led Warrington TTC's cadet team to the regional league title. Alex is ranked in the top 30 cadet players in England.
Alex's win at Blackpool follows further junior success for Warrington Table Tennis Club last month when James Chappel won both the cadet and junior bands at the Blackpool 1* tournament in March. James' success is especially noteworthy considering that he is just eleven years old and is competing against players who are several years older.
